The New Pornographers Unveil 'Votive' and Announce New Album 'The Former Site Of'

Exciting news for fans of The New Pornographers! The indie supergroup is back with a brand new album, The Former Site Of, slated for release on March 27th via Merge Records.

The album follows up Continue as a Guest and features the core lineup of A.C. Newman, Kathryn Calder, Neko Case, John Collins, and Todd Fancey. The band has also welcomed Charley Drayton on drums, stepping in for former drummer Joe Seiders. Josh Wells is slated to perform on the band's upcoming tour.

To give fans a taste of what's to come, The New Pornographers have released the first single, "Votive," alongside a visually stunning animated video created by Michael Arthur. Prepare to be mesmerized!

Newman shared insight into the album's creative process: "Having time in my studio really opened things up... Now I can get the skeleton of a song together first—just a couple of elements, the key feeling, really as little as possible—before bringing it to the band and running from there."
