The Wallflowers Announce 'Bringing Down the Horse' 30th Anniversary Tour, Tom Petty Tribute
The Wallflowers are celebrating the 30th anniversary of 'Bringing Down the Horse' with a tour where they'll play the album in full and cover Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' 'Long After Dark.'
The Wallflowers are gearing up for a monumental year, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their iconic 1996 sophomore LP, Bringing Down the Horse. The celebration includes an expansive North American and European tour that promises fans a unique, double-dose of nostalgia and reverence.
Not only will the band perform Bringing Down the Horse in its entirety, but they will also pay homage to one of their favorite records: Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ Long After Dark, performing it cover-to-cover.

"Coming back after such a long time, we wanted to do something special for the 30th anniversary of Bringing Down the Horse,” said singer Jakob Dylan in a statement. “We decided to play what seems to be our fans’ favorite Wallflowers album, and for us, we wanted to play one of our favorite Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers records, Long After Dark.”
Bringing Down the Horse remains The Wallflowers’ most commercially successful release. The album sold over four million copies, peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, and spawned the hit singles "6th Avenue Heartache" and “One Headlight.” The band's most recent album, Exit Wounds, was released in 2021.
