Travis Kelce's EDM Influence: How He Inspired Chris Lake's Remix of Taylor Swift's 'Opalite'
Taylor Swift's upcoming house remix of 'Opalite' owes its existence to Travis Kelce's love for Chris Lake. Kelce's enthusiasm for Lake's music led to the EDM producer remixing the track, with Swift's full approval.
Taylor Swift is set to release a house remix of her song “Opalite,” and the inspiration behind it is none other than Travis Kelce. In a recent Instagram story, Swift playfully credited her fiancé, stating, “Confirmed, Travis is my in-house house guy.”
So, how exactly did Kelce influence this new remix? It turns out he's a big fan of English EDM producer Chris Lake, and his enthusiasm sparked the collaboration. Lake revealed in an Instagram post that he reached out to Kelce via DMs, saying, “Heard you and Taylor were listening to my tracks… I’m going to take a crack at remixing this track for her.”
Kelce responded with excitement, calling Lake a “legend” and expressing his anticipation for the remix.
Once Lake finished his remix, Kelce's hype only intensified. “It’s so good dawg, I’m gonna be rippin this shit every car ride!!” he exclaimed in a message to Lake. He also confirmed Swift's approval, adding, “She loves it too!! She said her teams gonna reach out asap!”
“Opalite” continues to be a gift that keeps on giving. Even prior to its release, during Swift's New Heights podcast episode where she announced The Life of a Showgirl, Kelce declared it his favorite track from the album. Swift reaffirmed this in an October appearance on Capital FM, saying, “He loves that one.” Now, it seems his appreciation has only grown.
A CD version of the remix is available for pre-order on Swift’s website. While fans eagerly await the release to hear what prompted Kelce’s enthusiastic reaction, they can enjoy the extended versions of the “Opalite” music video, which Swift released recently.
