Young Thug's Electrifying Coachella Set: Surprise Guests, Throwback Hits, and a Callout to Teyana Taylor

At Coachella, Young Thug took the stage Sunday night for a set packed with surprise appearances, a diverse range of hits, and his signature engagement with the crowd.

Camila Cabello joined him to perform their chart-topping collaboration, “Havana,” marking its first live performance by Thug since 2018. Prior to Cabello's appearance, Thug brought out Ty Dolla $ign to celebrate his birthday with a rendition of “Carnival,” followed by a throwback to 2019 with “Check.” Later, NAV made an appearance to perform “Trimski.”

The show opened with a solo performance of “Ski,” his collaboration with Gunna, seamlessly transitioning into “Out West” with Travis Scott. The performance was enhanced by drone lights and a set design featuring apocalyptic visuals, including meteors on screen.

He also debuted his collaboration with Jamie xx and Popcaan, “I Know There’s Gonna Be Good Times.” During the set, Thug acknowledged Teyana Taylor, who he claimed was in the audience, and jokingly questioned why she was avoiding his styling requests, quipping about her constant rehearsals.

Earlier in the year, Young Thug had announced his next album, DBC (Day Before Coachella). However, as the festival approached, the album's release seemed uncertain. DBC would have continued his streak of yearly album releases, which included Business Is Business in 2023, Slime Season and Slime Season 2 in 2024, and UY SCUTI in 2025.

UY SCUTI marked Thug's return after his release from prison, where he spent over two years during the YSL racketeering trial.

“I just feel big,” Young Thug told GQ in April 2025. “I feel like I’m one of the biggest stars … The judge was just like, ‘Yo, you got to realize who you are,’” he said. “My lawyer, Brian Steel, he always told me every day, like, ‘Bro, you got to know. You got to know.’ And then me just sitting in the cell every night alone, it was just kind of like, ‘I’m big.’”
