Zayn Announces New Album 'Konnakol' After Vegas Residency
Zayn is set to release his fifth studio album, Konnakol, on April 17, following a successful Las Vegas residency. The album promises a deep dive into his heritage and a return to R&B-infused pop.

Following the conclusion of his Las Vegas residency, Zayn has announced his fifth studio album, Konnakol, slated for release on April 17. The announcement was made via social media, building anticipation for the new project. During his residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas, Zayn previewed new material, including the lead single "Die for Me," which is set to drop on Friday, Feb. 6.
“KONNAKOL in its definition is the act of creating percussive sounds with one’s voice but what it means to me lies somewhere much deeper. It is a sound that holds the reverberation of a time before words existed,” Zayn explained in a statement. “I have always drawn on my heritage for inspiration since I first started making my own music, this album is a development of that understanding, knowing more now than ever, who I am, where I come from and where I intend to go.”
Konnakol arrives after his 2024 album Room Under the Stairs, a collaboration with Dave Cobb that emphasized acoustic sounds and lyrical depth. This new album signals a return to the R&B-infused pop reminiscent of his debut, Mind of Mine, which will soon celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Similar to Mind of Mine, which featured Urdu interludes, Konnakol will highlight Zayn's cultural background. His Las Vegas performances included imagery of a snow leopard, a South Asian symbol of freedom and strength, and opened with a song referred to by fans as “Nusrat,” an Arabic name meaning victory. The setlists featured a blend of new tracks and selections from Mind of Mine, Icarus Falls, Nobody Is Listening, and Room Under the Stairs.
