Listeners eagerly cast their votes in the poll, published on Friday, May 29, overwhelmingly choosing Grande’s highly-anticipated return as their favorite release.
“Hate That I Made You Love Me” secured its leading position against new music from artists like Latto and aespa. By the time the poll closed on Sunday, Grande had amassed over 50% of the total vote.

“Hate That I Made You Love Me” serves as the first single from Grande’s upcoming eighth studio album, Petal, scheduled for release on July 31. This marks her first original music release since 2024's Eternal Sunshine, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Petal will be released through Grande’s BabyDoll Music imprint, licensed to Republic Records.
The track features lyrics like, “I hate that I made you love me/ Sorry if I made me your type/ Yeah, I, I hate that I made you love me/ ‘Cause I barely tried,” showcasing Grande's signature blend of vulnerability and confidence.
The official music video for “Hate That I Made You Love Me” is set to premiere on Monday morning, June 1.
