Adding to the emotional moment, Jessica Simpson, Ashlee’s sister, was present to assist in the unmasking. Simpson expressed, “Honestly, I’m kind of freaking out right now. I’ve literally had the best experience of my life here… I have grown so much here and I can’t even believe I won.”
Interestingly, Simpson was competing against her husband, Evan Ross, who performed as the “Stingray.” Speaking to Billboard, she revealed, “Going into the show, I didn’t think I was going to be on that long, and all of a sudden I got competitive — not against my husband, because I couldn’t see him… We were both just rooting each other on and there to have a good time."

Simpson emphasized her intention to highlight songs by female artists, including Rodrigo, Paramore, and Chappell Roan. “We were looking for female artists and girls that had that strong quality,” she stated. “I really wanted that for Galaxy Girl, who is strong, sensitive and there to have a good time.”
While Simpson has maintained a lower profile in recent years, with her last album, Bittersweet World, released in 2008, she has hinted at a musical resurgence.
She and Ross released “Phases” in 2019, and she had a short residency in Vegas.
She told Billboard that new music is coming. “I’m looking forward to playing new shows and definitely ready for that moment to release new music,” she said. I’m inspired.”
Simpson also expressed interest in returning to acting and Broadway, stating, “It’s gotten me to a place where I want to get into acting as well, and I’d love to go back to Broadway. It just gave me that itch of performing, between Vegas and this show it gave me that, ‘Oh, this is what I love to do.’ This is my happy place.”
