The performance was a vibrant celebration of Latin music, featuring dozens of dancers and intricate stage setups.

Celebrities like Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Jessica Alba, and Karol G were spotted among the dancers. Bad Bunny also appeared to hand one of his three Grammy Awards to a young boy during the set.

Lady Gaga made a surprise appearance, delivering a Latin-infused rendition of her collaboration with Bruno Mars, ‘Die With A Smile’, accompanied by Bad Bunny's backing band, Los Pleneros de la Cresta. Ricky Martin introduced ‘El apagón’ with an excerpt from ‘LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii’.

Data from Nielsen and Adobe Analytics indicates that Bad Bunny's halftime show garnered 128.2 million views, according to Consequence.

Last year's performance by Kendrick Lamar had a slightly higher viewership at 133.5 million. The only halftime shows with higher viewership are those of Michael Jackson in 1993 and Usher in 2024.

According to Ripple Analytics, the Puerto Rican musician also amassed four billion views on social media within 24 hours, reported by Variety.

The Super Bowl performance followed Bad Bunny's recognition as one of the biggest winners at the 2026 Grammys, where he delivered a powerful message advocating for love and acceptance in the US and criticizing ICE.

The Super Bowl show faced controversy since its announcement in September. Bad Bunny faced attacks from the MAGA movement, and Donald Trump criticized the choice, claiming he had never heard of him.

One of Trump's advisors stated that ICE would be present at the performance. Turning Point USA organized an 'All American Halftime Show' featuring Kid Rock.

During the show, Bad Bunny delivered a meaningful message saying: "God bless America", while dancers carried flags representing nations from Central, South and North America.

A billboard message read: "The only thing more powerful than hate is love", and he held a football displaying the message: "Together, We Are America."

Donald Trump criticized the performance, calling it a "slap in the face" for America.

Prior to the show, Jennifer Lopez, who Bad Bunny joined during her 2020 halftime performance, expressed her support. "Bad Bunny… Sending you all the love, positivity, and the biggest hug in the world!

"We are all behind you tonight. I know that you are going to kill it! I am here with you the way you were there with me."

Shakira also shared her well-wishes, posting a clip of Bad Bunny performing at her Super Bowl and wishing him the best.
