While Boards of Canada have maintained a relatively low profile since their last album, they've offered glimpses of activity through remixes, archival reissues, and an NTS DJ mix.
Another cryptic sign emerged when a fan discovered that a website previously used for their promotional clues, which had been displaying 404 errors, was revived with the message: “nobody home…” followed by a Morse code repetition of the phrase.
Earlier this month, fans reported receiving VHS tapes bearing the Boards of Canada hexagon-mesh logo. According to archivist page BoC Pages, these tapes contained audio from an advertisement for a Christian bible school magazine that ceased publication in 1991.
The band also recently dropped a mysterious new track called 'Tape 05', an ambient piece featuring a harp melody interwoven with subtle shoegaze textures.
