Brent Faiyaz's "Have To." Ascends to No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay Chart, New Album Icon Coming Soon
Brent Faiyaz scores his first No. 1 as a lead artist on Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay chart with "Have To.", previewing his highly anticipated album, Icon.

Brent Faiyaz is currently riding high as his single "Have To." claims the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay chart. This marks a significant milestone for the singer, songwriter, and producer, securing his first No. 1 as a lead artist.
The track, released on ISO Supremacy/United Masters, jumped from No. 4 to the top spot on the chart dated Feb. 7, becoming the most played song on U.S. panel-contributing adult R&B radio stations between Jan. 23-29, according to Luminate.
"Have To." experienced a remarkable 25% increase in plays during its coronation week compared to the previous week (Jan. 16-22). This surge earned it the 'Greatest Gainer' tag, awarded weekly to the song with the largest increase in play count.
This isn't Faiyaz's first taste of chart-topping success. He previously reached No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay as a featured artist on Alicia Keys' "Trillions," which reigned for two weeks in January-February 2023.
"Have To." serves as a preview of Faiyaz's upcoming album, Icon, scheduled for release on Feb. 13. The album was initially planned for release on Sept. 19, 2025, but was ultimately shelved at the last minute. The music video for "Have To." addresses this decision with on-screen text, revealing that Faiyaz scrapped the original release and lead single just before its intended launch.
Icon follows Faiyaz's 2023 mixtape, Larger than Life, which debuted at No. 2 on the Top R&B Albums chart and No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
Beyond the Adult R&B Airplay chart, "Have To." maintains its position at No. 10 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, with an 8% increase in spins. The song's combined strength across both adult R&B and mainstream R&B/hip-hop formats propelled it from 8-6 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, reaching 11.2 million in audience impressions last week, a 24% increase from the previous week.
