Céline Dion Announces Paris Residency, Marking Official Comeback After Health Battle

After a period of battling stiff-person syndrome, Céline Dion is officially making her comeback. The singer announced a series of shows in Paris this fall, marking her first headlining concerts since 2020.

The news comes shortly after posters began appearing in Paris, sparking rumors of her return. Dion made the announcement in a video on her 58th birthday. "In my career, I’ve recorded a lot of birthday messages," she said. "But this is the first time I’ve ever recorded one for my own birthday. And wow, it’s been hard keeping it a secret from myself! But I want to let you know that I’m doing great. I’m managing my health, I’m feeling good, I’m singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing, obviously."

She thanked her fans for their unwavering support during her battle with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological condition she was diagnosed with in 2022. Her struggle is captured in the Amazon Prime documentary I Am: Celine Dion. "Over these last few years, every day that’s gone by, I’ve felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love," she said. "You’ve helped me in ways that I can’t even describe, and I’m truly fortunate to have your support."

Dion added, "This year, I’m getting the best birthday gift of my life…I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you once again in Paris, beginning in September! I’m feeling good, I’m strong, I’m feeling excited, obviously a little nervous, but most of all, I’m grateful to all of YOU! I love you all and I’ll see you soon!"

The 2026 shows will take place at Paris La Défense Arena on Wednesdays and Saturdays, beginning Sept. 12 and concluding on Oct. 14. While this residency marks her first headlining shows in six years, Dion performed Édith Piaf’s “Hymne à L’amour” at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. She also performed "The Power of Love" and "I’m Alive" at the 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab fashion show in Saudi Arabia.

Tickets for her Paris run go on sale Friday, April 10.
