Charli XCX Unleashes Cheeky Pop-Punk B-Side “Playboy Bunny”

Charli XCX has gifted fans with another taste of her forthcoming album, unveiling the B-side track “Playboy Bunny.” This playful, pop-punk offering serves as a companion piece to her recent single, “SS26.”

According to Charli, these B-sides are intentionally paired with album tracks to highlight contrasting elements. In an Instagram video on her "b.sides" account, she explained, "The reason that they’re paired together, these two songs, are because, in ways, they’re totally opposite from each other, and that is kind of the sort of main point of them... It’s sort of a mirror… there are specifically sonic things about it that are extremely opposite to ‘SS26’ and I think that’s what made it a good B side, a good pair."

Charli humorously noted that the video was filmed the day after the “SS26” video shoot, admitting she was "honestly v hungover lol."

Exclusivity is key with “Playboy Bunny,” as it's only accessible via her Instagram account and a limited edition 7” vinyl. "The B sides are never gonna go on streaming," Charli confirmed. She elaborated on the concept behind her supplemental Instagram account, stating, "Whilst making the record, I made a few songs that felt like a part of the world of the album, but I kind of knew they weren’t ever going to be on the album, and so they became the sort of B sides."

Earlier in the month, Charli XCX released the single “Rock Music” and its B-side “I Keep on Thinking Bout You Every Single Day and Night” on the dedicated Instagram account.
