Don Toliver's 'Octane' Ignites Rolling Loud Orlando: A Rainforest Rave

Five years after his last appearance, Don Toliver returned to the Rolling Loud stage as a headliner for the opening night of Rolling Loud Orlando on Friday, May 8th.

Toliver chose this event to kick off his highly anticipated Octane Tour, set to take over North American arenas throughout the summer.

An hour before the Cactus Jack artist's 9:45 p.m. ET set, a heavy downpour soaked Camping World Stadium. Toliver emerged from the smoke, amidst a set design reminiscent of a Rainforest Cafe, replacing EsDeeKid’s castle with lush foliage and plants.

Donning his signature dove white jacket and matching pants by designer Dingyun Zhang, Toliver debuted a new mask, which he quickly discarded along with the jacket to reveal an Octane Mountain T-shirt.

Sixty thousand fans erupted as the opening synths of “E85” blasted through the speakers. The Octane opener has consistently remained in the Billboard Hot 100’s top 40, currently holding the No. 35 spot since its release in late January.

“Open that s—t up!” Toliver commanded before launching into “Opposite,” intensifying the energy as drinks soared through the air and moshpits erupted.

Octane tracks like “Call Back,” “Gemstone,” “ATM,” and “Body” followed, with fans passionately singing along. This showcases the album's staying power, maintaining a position in the Billboard 200’s top 10 since January, outperforming recent projects from J. Cole and A$AP Rocky.

The Houston native then revisited fan favorites such as “Cardigan” and his memorable feature on Astroworld‘s “Can’t Say,” before surprising the crowd by bringing out YEAT. The frequent collaborators performed Octane‘s “Rendezvous,” followed by YEAT’s solo performance of “Comë n Go” from 2025.

The slow-burning hit “No Pole” has become a catalog staple for Toliver, who also embraced the Dr. Nefario memes from his 2024 Rolling Loud performance of “Too Many Nights,” showcasing dance moves reminiscent of Fortnite emotes.

The 31-year-old closed the show with a string of hits, including Internet Money’s “Lemonade,” “BANDIT,” and Heaven or Hell‘s “After Party.” “I want you to sing this s—t with me. This the drive,” Toliver exclaimed before reprising “E85,” the track that ignited the high-energy set.

Footage had surfaced earlier that day of Toliver being detained, a narrative he addressed by previewing the “E85” music video on the jumbotrons, depicting his arrest after a high-speed chase in his Porsche and subsequent interrogation. The official release of the clip is expected soon.

Don Toliver's exceptional start to 2026 has solidified his place among rap's elite. His unique blend of psychedelic trap remains unmatched in hip-hop and R&B, potentially surpassing even his former idols.
