Double the Jack: Jack Black and Jack White to Rock 'SNL' as Host and Musical Guest

It's not always black and white, but this Saturday Night Live pairing certainly is something special.

Saturday Night Live shared a new promo featuring its upcoming host Jack Black in a "Get Ready With Me" (GRWM) video. The clip, shared Wednesday (April 1), follows Black as he prepares to host SNL.

The actor and comedian, clad in a bathrobe, reveals that this episode is special for two reasons.

"The musical guest is my brother from another color, Jack White," Black quips before launching into an air guitar solo. "And because I’m hosting the show for the one, two, three, four — count ’em — fifth time!"

Black, continues his GRWM journey, showcasing a wardrobe of eccentric patterned shirts, graphic tees, and jorts to create the perfect outfit. He ultimately chooses a cat graphic tee, a pizza and cat patterned overshirt, flame-patterned shorts (or “florts”), and rainbow tube socks, complete with platform Crocs and a hybrid bucket-hat beanie (“buckeanie”).

Their shared first name isn't the only thing the SNL host has in common with musical guest Jack White. In 2023, White also achieved five-timer status, having previously performed on the show once with The White Stripes and four times solo. This upcoming performance will mark his sixth on the iconic series.

Black is promoting his return as Bowser in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Back in 2023, Black made his solo Billboard Hot 100 debut with "Peaches" from The Super Mario Bros. Movie, peaking at No. 56.

The Black x White SNL episode will air Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET/ 8:30 p.m. PT on NBC and next day on Peacock. Watch Jack Black‘s full SNL GRWM promo video below.
