Drake Makes History on Australian Charts with Unprecedented Triple Album Entry

With a bold triple album release, Drake has etched his name into Australian music history, achieving a feat unmatched since the inception of the ARIA Charts.

The Canadian megastar now dominates the ARIA Albums Chart with Iceman debuting at No. 1, Maid Of Honour at No. 5, and Habibti at No. 6, all released via Republic/Universal. This accomplishment marks him as the first artist to land three new albums in the top 10 simultaneously since the charts' debut in 1983.

According to ARIA, this impressive showing surpasses previous milestones set by Guns N’ Roses and Bruce Springsteen. GN’R achieved a double in 1991 with Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II debuting at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. The Boss followed suit in 1992 with Human Touch (No. 3) and Lucky Town (No. 6).

Drake now boasts an impressive 16 solo and collaborative top 10 albums, including chart-toppers like Views (2016), Scorpion (2018), Dark Lane Demo Tapes (2020), Certified Lover Boy (2021), and For All The Dogs (2023).

Also making waves on the ARIA Albums Chart is Genesis Owusu, the celebrated Aussie rock artist, whose third album, Redstar Wu & The Worldwide Scourge (Ourness), debuts at No. 3. This marks a career-high for the Canberra-raised musician, following his award-winning 2021 debut, Smiling With No Teeth, which peaked at No. 27, and his 2023 release, Struggler, which reached No. 4.

Further down the chart, Yungblud's IDOLS (Interscope/Universal) enters at No. 27, Stella Lefty’s Is This Heaven? (Warner Music) lands at No. 28, and the Rose Carleo Band debuts at No. 34 with their LP 42 Days (Checked Label Services).

Drake's album dump significantly impacts the ARIA Singles Chart as well. A total of 15 Drake singles make their way into the ARIA Top 50 this week, with five of those landing in the top 10: “National Treasures” at No. 4, “Janice STFU” at No. 5, “Whisper My Name” at No. 6, “Make Them Cry” at No. 9, and “Dust” at No. 10.

Drake is nearing 100 career top 50 hits in Australia. Including collaborations, he has made 98 appearances on the chart, including No. 1 hits like “One Dance” featuring Wizkid and Kyla (2016), “God’s Plan,” “Nice For What,” and “In My Feelings” (2018).

Currently, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” (Sony Music) holds the top spot on the leaderboard for a second week.
