Eartheater Announces New Album 'Heavenly Body: If I’m the Bottle You’re the Message,' Shares 'Paradise Rains'
Eartheater is set to release Heavenly Body: If I’m the Bottle You’re the Message. The announcement arrives alongside a new single, "Paradise Rains," and upcoming show dates.
Eartheater has revealed details for her upcoming album, Heavenly Body: If I’m the Bottle You’re the Message. Along with the announcement comes the release of her new single, "Paradise Rains," and a string of tour dates in Los Angeles and New York. The album, featuring striking cover art shot by Tre Koch, is slated for release on July 14 via Chemical X.
This release follows Alexandra Drewchin’s previous album as Eartheater, the more modestly titled Powders. Before that came Phoenix: Flames Are Dew Upon My Skin. Drewchin began working on the new record shortly after the birth of her daughter, collaborating with Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio as co-producer, and featuring Oklou on the track “Fast Asleep.” The closing track, “Nova,” named after Drewchin’s newborn, is co-produced with Nosaj Thing and Michael Andrews—known for his collaboration with Gary Jules on the "Mad World" cover in Donnie Darko.
According to Drewchin, "Paradise Rains" is about reclaiming her childhood farm after two decades of estrangement. She conceived her baby the day she first returned to the property. The experience of revisiting the farm brought back a flood of memories, both positive and negative, which were then "dissolved and washed away by the showers of deep love with my new little family."
