The Fucked Up frontman Damian Abraham has officially launched Cut & Paste Pictures, a Toronto-based production company he co-founded with former CBC executive Zach Feldberg, as reported by Deadline. The company aims to focus on "culture-shaping stories that are raw, uncommon, and often overlooked."

Cut & Paste Pictures' initial slate includes a feature-length documentary directed by Scott Barber, which chronicles the friendship between Rise Against guitarist Zach Blair and wrestler Hassan “MVP” Assad. Assad will also lead an unscripted series, Exit Strategy, focusing on life after prison.

Further projects include I Just Want to Talk to You, a feature film based on Sleepy Creek musician Charles K Brown's story of falling for his bandmate in the 1970s. The film is written and directed by Kelly McCormack, with co-writing by Tess Degenstein.

Additionally, Cut & Paste is developing Hoser, a half-hour comedy series created by Abraham and the Halluci Nation’s Ehren Thomas. The series centers on a disgraced American podcaster who accidentally relocates to Canada. Tim Hill, also from Halluci Nation, will present a factual/lifestyle series, while director Caitlin Starowicz is developing a documentary about the 1990s suburban punk rock scene of southern Ontario.

Supported by Canada’s Bell Fund and named for its DIY spirit, Cut & Paste previously produced a music video and documentary for the hardcore punk band SNFU. Check out their short documentary below:

Abraham, who has hosted series like Vice’s The Wrestlers and MuchMusic’s The Wedge, and created the podcast Turned Out a Punk, stated, “After two decades leading a band with a swear word for a name, and years spent working across podcasting and television chasing era-defining moments, I’ve learned that the culture you want to see in the world doesn't just happen.”
