The End Of The Road festival is gearing up for a landmark 20th anniversary celebration, returning to its beloved home at Larmer Tree Gardens on the border of Dorset and Wiltshire from September 3 to September 6. The final piece of this celebratory puzzle has just been slotted into place with the announcement of Geese as the last headliner.
Previously, the festival had teased a mystery headliner for the opening night on The Woods Stage. Now confirmed, the Brooklyn-based quintet will join an already impressive roster featuring iconic acts like Pulp, the charismatic CMAT, and the ever-charming Mac DeMarco at the top of the bill.
This announcement caps off an extraordinary period for Geese. The band recently took home the coveted Brit Award for Best International Group and made a memorable debut on Saturday Night Live, cementing their status as one of the most exciting forces in contemporary music.
Their third album, Getting Killed, was a critical darling, named by NME as the best album of 2025. Critics lauded its audacious blend of genres, stating, “Who ordered this absurd, poetic explosion of jazz, rock and noise – where Radiohead, Black Midi, The Strokes, Van Morrison, and Ukrainian choir samples collide without being crushed beneath the pretension? It’s a rare, unpredictable record that comes with such melody in the madness, control in the chaos. It’s a total thrill.”
Further solidifying their live prowess, Geese recently earned a five-star review for their performance at the Eventim Apollo Hammersmith, with NME proclaiming it a true ‘I was there’ moment for the “most hyped band on the planet.”
Beyond the headliners, the End Of The Road lineup is rich with talent, featuring the legendary Super Furry Animals, the inimitable Kurt Vile, the raucous Fat Dog, the atmospheric Just Mustard, and the dynamic Working Men’s Club. Also gracing the stages will be Beverly Glenn-Copeland & Elizabeth Copeland, Ty Segall and Adult DVD, the incomparable Lucinda Williams, Cardinals, Folk Bitch Trio, Cowboy Hunters, S.G. Goodman, Jeffrey Lewis & The Voltage, The Felice Brothers, Ohtis, and many more.
Anticipation is high, especially after Pulp hinted at an “unusual performance” as they continue to tour their latest album, More (2025). The festival's legacy is strong, with previous editions featuring stellar acts like Father John Misty, Caribou, Self Esteem, Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory, The National frontman Matt Berninger, Viagra Boys, and Katy J Pearson.
