High Winds Cancel Anyma's Highly Anticipated Coachella Set
EDM star Anyma's late-night Coachella set was canceled due to high winds, disappointing fans eager to see his new 'Aeden' performance.
Due to strong winds, Anyma's late-night set at Coachella was canceled, leaving fans disappointed. The EDM star was scheduled to perform on the main stage at midnight, following Sabrina Carpenter's headlining performance.
Around 12:15 a.m., Coachella organizers announced a "scheduling change," citing strong wind conditions affecting Anyma's stage build. In a statement, they emphasized that the decision was made jointly with Anyma, prioritizing everyone's safety.
"Due to strong wind conditions affecting Anyma’s stage build, he is unable to perform," organizers and Anyma said in a statement posted on social media. “Coachella & Anyma have made this decision together with your safety as the priority.”
Anyma expressed his regret, stating, "I’m sorry everyone. We’ve done everything in our control to build the show I’ve worked an entire year on. Safety always comes first and we’re working on a solution now." He was set to premiere a new performance titled "Aeden" at the festival.
It remains unclear whether Anyma's set will be rescheduled for Saturday or Sunday of the first weekend. He is also scheduled to perform during the second weekend of Coachella.
Fortunately, the weather only impacted Friday’s closing set. Other performers, including Sabrina Carpenter, Turnstile, the xx, and Katseye, performed without weather interruptions.
As of Saturday morning, no weather warnings have been issued for the rest of the lineup, which includes a headlining set by Justin Bieber, as well as performances by The Strokes, David Byrne, Interpol, Addison Rae, and Nine Inch Noize.
