Hovvdy Announces New Album 'Big World' and Drops DIY Video for "Try Try Try"
Austin-based duo Hovvdy is set to release their new album, 'Big World,' on August 14th via Arts & Crafts. The album announcement comes with a new single, "Try Try Try," and a North American and European tour.
Hovvdy is gearing up to release their new album, Big World, on August 14th via Arts & Crafts. This release follows their 2024 self-titled LP and marks a shift in their songwriting approach after relocating to Nashville. According to Charlie Martin, the new album embraces a more concise and direct style.
"The last record felt like such a generous offering: a double-album, deeply personal, you can literally hear me crying on some songs," said Martin. "With this one, we wanted to take on the challenge of making something more concise and to the point, and give the fans something that feels like a shorter but more exciting ride."
Fans can get a taste of Big World with the new single “Try Try Try,” accompanied by a DIY video shot live by director Michael Rees in a home rehearsal setting, complete with a few beers.
Martin and bandmate Will Taylor are also hitting the road in support of the new record, following their summer dates supporting Bleachers and Wilco. The new LP was produced by longtime collaborator Ben Littlejohn, who worked with the band in Nashville and Asheville.
