Kurt Vile Announces New Album 'Philadelphia's Been Good To Me' and 2026 World Tour
Kurt Vile is set to release 'Philadelphia's Been Good To Me' on May 29, along with the single 'Chance To Bleed' and a comprehensive 2026 tour spanning North America, the UK, and Europe.

Kurt Vile has announced his upcoming album ‘Philadelphia’s Been Good To Me’, alongside the release of its lead single ‘Chance To Bleed’. New 2026 tour dates have also been revealed. Listen to the single below:
The new record is slated for release on May 29 via Verve Records, marking Vile's first full-length project since 2022’s ‘(Watch My Moves)’. Pre-orders are available here.
This album is described as a blend of reflective ballads and upbeat road anthems, crafted as a heartfelt tribute to Philadelphia, explaining why Vile has always remained loyal to his home.
"This is my 'bringing it all back home to Philly' record,” he shared. “I’m treating it like my last record. I put everything into it. It’s my best vocal record. It’s my best electric guitar record. It’s my most organic record, made in the comfort of my own zone.”
The lead single, ‘Chance To Bleed’, released today, revisits Vile's early experiences in Philadelphia's underground music scene, which he playfully describes as “hillbilly techno.”
The track revolves around a warm, shoegaze-influenced guitar riff, gradually building to a charismatic chorus: “You got a chance to bleed now/ With that old time, lo-fi, DIY, rock n’ roll nights.”
Guest vocals on the album feature contributions from longtime collaborators Natalie Hoffman (NOTS, Optic Sink), Ethan Buckler (King Kong, Slint), and Greg Cartwright (Reigning Sound, The Oblivians), with a cameo appearance by comedian Jim E Brown in the music video.

‘Philadelphia’s Been Good To Me’ was recorded between late 2023 and early 2026, capturing both Vile’s personal experiences during that period and his broader understanding of music's ability to connect people across time.
The album also marks a return to Vile's home-recording roots, while solidifying his role as a producer.
"I’ve been waiting for that natural element to show up again in my recordings, like the old home recording days,” he explained. “I think I finally caught that again, but in a higher fidelity; it’s never overly polished, but it’s still pretty damn shimmery.”
In addition to the album, Vile has announced new 2026 tour dates across the UK, Europe, and North America.
The tour commences in Toronto in June, followed by numerous US dates throughout the summer, culminating in a homecoming performance at Philadelphia’s Dell Music Centre on July 25.
The European leg kicks off in August with shows in France, Germany, and Denmark, among others. He will then head to the UK and Ireland for nine shows in September, supported by Ryan Davis & The Roadhouse Band, including a stop at Troxy in London.
Following the European dates, Vile will return to North America in November for additional tour dates. Tickets are available here for UK shows and here for international shows.

Last December, Vile reunited with The War On Drugs for a live cover of R.E.M.’s ‘Country Feedback’. Vile was a founding member of the band, playing with them from 2005 to 2008.
His ninth album, ‘(Watch My Moves)’ received a four-star review from NME upon its release in 2022, praised as a “sprawling dream-pop adventure”.
"Vile has always been the epitome of someone comfortable in their own skin, but he displays that more than ever,” the review stated. “We’re transported to leafy suburban American backstreets with one meandering vocal melody, and even placed in a great American forest on his reflective ode to his Philadelphia, ‘Mount Airy Hill (Way Gone)’. Nobody can transport you in quite the same way this outsider can, and the world’s a much better place for his unwavering presence.”
