JLo Makes Surprise Coachella Debut with David Guetta for 'Save Me Tonight'

Coachella is known for its surprise appearances, so it was fitting that Jennifer Lopez made her festival debut on Saturday night (April 11) during David Guetta’s set without any prior announcement. The duo recently dropped their energetic dance track “Save Me Tonight.”

Lopez took the stage in a striking silver bodysuit, partially concealed by a feathery green jacket. She shared her experience in a 90-second Instagram video, which starts with her stepping off a private plane in full Coachella attire: leather boots, a cowboy hat, a white feathery jacket, a long boho skirt, and a fringed leather purse.

After posing on the jetway, the video cuts to Lopez backstage as Guetta introduces her to the crowd. The scene transitions from Lopez awaiting her cue to a quick change into her dazzling stage outfit, a car ride to the venue, and her dramatic entrance for the live debut of their song.

“Don’t know if it lasts forever, but it’s now or never,” Lopez sang, as the crowd erupted. Lopez briefly joined Guetta on his platform before dancing with performers in electric blue leotards.

“The most fun day!! ‘Save Me Tonight’ with David live for the first time at MY FIRST COACHELLA was so special,” Lopez captioned her post. “My happy era is rewriting everything. Don’t ever stop surprising yourself 🤍”

Guetta also commemorated the event, posting a highlight reel from his Quasar Stage set set to his 2010 track with Kid Cudi, “Memories,” including footage of Lopez’s performance and their embrace at the end.

“Save Me Tonight” marks Lopez’s first release since last year’s Kiss of the Spider-Woman soundtrack, following 2024’s This Is Me … Now. The track, her initial collaboration with Guetta, was released on March 6 via What a DJ/ Warner Records, debuting at No. 18 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and No. 38 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay.

Lopez was among many guest appearances during the first weekend of Coachella. Karol G brought out Becky G for “MAMIII,” Major Lazer featured M.I.A. performing “Paper Planes,” Justin Bieber joined Tems and WizKid for (“Essence”), and the Kid LAROI, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker joined the Clipse. Camila Cabello performed “Havana” with Young Thug and the Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan performed with sombr on his band’s “1979.”

Additionally, Teddy Swims had surprise guests Joe Jonas (“When You Look Me In the Eyes”), Vanessa Carlton (“A Thousand Miles”) and former Van Halen singer David Lee Roth (“Jump”), while KATSEYE were joined by the voices of Kpop Demon Hunters — EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami — for an amped up version of “Golden” and Sabrina Carpenter’s set featured cameos from Will Ferrell, Sam Elliott, Susan Sarandon and the singer’s former Girl Meets World cast mate Corey Fogelmanis, among many other weekend surprises.
