Justin Timberlake has conceded to a settlement with the Sag Harbor police department, allowing the release of redacted bodycam footage from his DWI arrest two years ago. This development follows Timberlake's lawsuit earlier this month seeking an injunction to prevent the footage's release.

Lawyers representing both Timberlake and the police department informed a judge on Friday that they had reached an agreement.

"Petitioner had an opportunity to review the footage respondents intend to disseminate, as redacted, related to petitioner’s June 18, 2024 traffic stop and arrest,” the settlement notice states. “Petitioner agrees that the footage respondents intend to release, as redacted, does not constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.”

With the settlement in place, the Sag Harbor police are now set to release the redacted bodycam footage to various news outlets that filed public records requests. The content of the footage remains undisclosed, leaving fans and media outlets curious about whether it will corroborate the widely circulated reports that Timberlake allegedly told arresting officers, "This is going to ruin the tour."

In a statement to Billboard, the Village of Sag Harbor expressed satisfaction with the resolution, stating, “We are pleased that this matter has now been resolved and the village will be able to comply with its statutory obligation to release the material that is subject to disclosure.”

The village emphasized its commitment to adhering to the Freedom of Information Law, ensuring that any released material is reviewed and redacted to protect public safety, officer safety, and personal privacy.

Reps for Timberlake did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

As a reminder, Timberlake was arrested in June 2024 on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He later pled guilty to a lesser impaired driving charge and was sentenced to 25 hours of community service. He also created a PSA.

In legal documents filed earlier this month, Timberlake's lawyers argued that the arrest footage depicted him in a vulnerable state and its release would not serve any legitimate public interest. A Long Island judge initially blocked the video's release pending a court review.
