Knocked Loose and Denzel Curry Unleash Brain-Rattling Collaboration "Hive Mind"

Knocked Loose and Denzel Curry have unleashed "Hive Mind," a powerful collaboration accompanied by a music video set in the hardcore band’s hometown skate park in Louisville, Kentucky. The track and visual squarely target individuals who blindly follow trends and lack independent thought.

"This is something we’ve talked about doing for a long time,” says Knocked Loose frontman Bryan Garris, who co-directed the video with Eric Richter. “We wondered if we could pull it off and who would be down. In the very beginning, we said for it to work, it would have to be Denzel Curry. Because he gets it.” Curry previously showcased his metal affinity in 2019 with a cover of Rage Against the Machine’s "Bulls on Parade."

The track itself is a menacing blend of Knocked Loose’s signature heavy riffs and Curry’s rapid-fire delivery, resulting in a scathing critique of group mentality. Curry spits: “Everybody wanna dick-ride/When you don’t follow the trend, you getting crucified/Got you leaning on the one side/When you lean the other way it’s social suicide,” while Garris questions: “Do you feel shame when you’re all alone?/No sense of self or thoughts of your own/Pretend it’s true, nothing less/Same old leash tied to me/Just a different fucking dress.” The song serves as a blistering condemnation of those who latch onto trends within the music industry, all while being a genuinely heavy and excellent track.

Knocked Loose recently released their Grammy-nominated 2024 record, You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To, and are preparing to tour with Metallica and Gojira. The band previously performed at the Rolling Stone studios in 2021.
