Lady Gaga & Doechii Unleash 'Runway' for 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'
Lady Gaga and Doechii have teamed up for "Runway," a new track featured in The Devil Wears Prada 2. The song, co-written by Gaga, blends pop and hip-hop elements, and is already making waves.
Fans received a sneak peek of this stylish collaboration earlier this week in the trailer for the highly anticipated sequel.
From Monday to Sunday, Lady Gaga and Doechii prove they can transform any dance floor into a high-fashion runway.
The dynamic pop/hip-hop pairing has officially released their duet, “Runway,” which serves as the debut single from The Devil Wears Prada 2. This track, named in homage to the fictional fashion magazine central to the film series, was initially teased in the final trailer for the sequel, set to hit theaters on May 1.
“Runway” boasts an impressive writing team, co-crafted by Lady Gaga alongside her “Die With a Smile” collaborators Bruno Mars, Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II, and Andrew Watt, in addition to Mayhem producer Cikut, Jaylah Hickmon, and Jayda Love. Production credits go to Mars, Watt, Cirkut, and D’Mile.
The song is tailor-made for the catwalk, opening with the commanding spoken line: “No matter what, you better strut.” In the outro, Gaga's vocals soar with the line, “You were born for the runway,” perhaps a nod to her 2011 Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper, “Born This Way.”
Last year, at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, Doechii had the honor of presenting Gaga with the Innovator Award, confessing that she grew up as a devoted “Little Monster.” Doechii emphasized Gaga’s profound impact on young queer individuals, stating, “Lady Gaga wasn’t just a pop star; she was a lifeline... Gaga taught us it was OK to be our real selves.” In a British Vogue interview the previous year, Gaga returned the praise, acknowledging Doechii’s exceptional talent: “You don’t often see someone come out of the gate with a pen that feels immediately legendary. That’s Doechii to me.”
