Lil Tjay Arrested After Offset Shooting: Gambling Debt Fuels Casino Chaos
Lil Tjay was arrested in connection to a shooting incident involving Offset at a Florida casino, adding fuel to rumors of existing tension and gambling debts between the two artists.

Following a shooting incident involving Offset at a Florida casino, rapper Lil Tjay has been arrested. The incident occurred on Monday, April 6, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood.
According to the Seminole Police Department, Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt, was detained outside the casino. He faces a charge of disorderly conduct—affray, classified as a first-degree misdemeanor under Florida law.
While initial speculation linked him directly to the shooting, he has not been charged with any weapons-related offenses.
"Merritt was booked into the Broward County Jail late last night,” the Seminole Police Department stated. “A second person detained at the scene has not been charged. The investigation to identify one or more additional persons involved in the incident is ongoing.”
According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Lil Tjay was held on a $500 bond for the disorderly conduct charge before being released on Tuesday. He also faced a separate traffic violation, with a $2,500 bond.
The police statement confirms speculation that the shooting involving Offset and Lil Tjay’s arrest are connected, particularly given prior tensions regarding an alleged gambling debt.
Initial reports created confusion, with some falsely claiming that Lil Tjay had both shot Offset and been shot himself.
His attorney, Dawn M. Florio, refuted what she described as online misinformation.
“We are issuing this release in regards to false rumors that Lil Tjay was involved in a shooting which occurred at the Valet Area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood which resulting in non-life threatening injuries to Offset, formerly a member of Migos,” Florio stated.
“Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false,” Florio continued. “We encourage people to consult trusted news sources, and to verify the accuracy of any reporting.”
Offset was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital with a “non-life-threatening” injury, confirmed by his representative.
“Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care,” the spokesperson said. “He is stable and being closely monitored.”
Offset has not issued a personal statement. Authorities are still investigating the shooting and determining if additional individuals will face charges.
