Madonna Announces 'Confessions II': A Dance Floor Reunion
Madonna officially announces 'Confessions II,' the sequel to her iconic 2005 album, 'Confessions on a Dance Floor,' set to release on July 3rd. Get ready to dance!

Since 2024, Madonna has been hinting at a follow-up to her seminal album, Confessions on a Dance Floor. The anticipation reached fever pitch yesterday when she wiped her Instagram and updated her bio with the lyric “Time goes by so slowly…” from the hit single “Hung Up.”
The wait is over: Confessions II is officially slated for release on July 3rd via Warner.

In a press statement, Madonna shared her vision for the album:
> When Stuart Price and I first started working on this record, this was our manifesto:
>
> We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies. These are things that we've been doing for thousands of years — they really are spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space. It’s a place where you connect
> —with your wounds, with your fragility. To rave is an art. It's about pushing your limits and
> connecting to a community of like-minded people.
> Sound, light, and vibration
>
> Reshape our perceptions
>
> Pulling us into a trance-like state.
>
> The repetition of the bass, we don’t just hear it but we feel it.
> Altering our consciousness and dissolving ego and time.
Madonna first teased the Confessions sequel in December 2024, posting a video from the studio with Stuart Price. Last year, she confirmed her return to Warner Records, her original label, where she released albums from her self-titled debut in 1983 to 2008’s Hard Candy.
In the years since 2019’s Madame X, Madonna has released remix compilations like Finally Enough Love and Veronica Electronica, and collaborated with Beyoncé, Fireboy DML, and Sam Smith. She also reworked “Hung Up” with Tokischa.
The planned Madonna biopic starring Julia Garner was shelved in 2023 but will reportedly feature in season two of the Apple TV+ series The Studio.
