Madonna Takes Over Grindr: Exclusive 'Confessions II' Vinyl Drops for Pride

Madonna is making headlines again, this time with a unique collaboration that blends music and social networking. The Queen of Pop has teamed up with Grindr, the popular social app for gay, bi, trans, and queer individuals, to launch an exclusive vinyl edition of her highly anticipated album, ‘Confessions II’.

Earlier this month, Madonna announced that ‘Confessions II’, the sequel to her iconic 2005 album ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor’, would drop on July 3rd. She's been teasing the album since early last year, building anticipation among her fans.

She recently released her new single ‘I Feel So Free’ on major streaming platforms, after its debut on LGBTQ+ radio station Pride Radio.

This collaboration with Grindr underscores Madonna's decades-long allyship with the LGBTQ+ community, where she maintains a significant and devoted fanbase.

As one of the select brand partners chosen by Madonna, she's "taking over" the app to integrate her world with the Grindr community, perfectly timed for Pride season. Grindr users will now find a dedicated square on their profile grid featuring Madonna. Clicking this square reveals a personal message from the icon herself:

"Hi Grindr. It’s Motha. I made an exclusive vinyl of my new album just for you. I could have dropped it anywhere but I wanted to go where the hottest action was, so I got on the grid. Are you ready for Confessions II?"

The in-app experience includes exclusive content, location-aware moments within the Global Gayborhood, and limited-edition product releases, including the exclusive ‘Confessions II’ picture disc chosen by Madonna, available only to Grindr users.

Grindr has hinted that this is just the beginning of the artist takeover, with more offerings planned for the app and its social channels.

Since announcing ‘Confessions II’, Madonna also made a surprise appearance during Sabrina Carpenter’s headline set at weekend two of Coachella last Friday (April 17).

Shortly afterwards, she told fans that the clothing items she wore on stage had gone missing, and she is now offering a reward for their safe return.

Madonna reunited with Stuart Price (the producer of the original album) for ‘Confessions II’, which will come in two variations: a standard issue featuring 12 tracks, and a deluxe version containing four bonus songs.

She has explained that the new LP – the follow-up to 2019’s ‘Madame X’ – is best summed up in the opening lines of the track ‘One Step Away’: “People think that dance music is superficial, but they’ve got it all wrong. The dance floor is not just a place, it’s a threshold: A ritualistic space where movement replaces language.”

Madonna had revealed she’d been working with Price again back in December 2024, and then teased ‘Confessions II’ throughout 2025 and into this year. Last autumn, she confirmed that she had re-signed with Warner Records, and said she was “looking forward to the future, making music”.

The Queen Of Pop last played a run of live shows as part of her acclaimed ‘Celebration Tour’ in 2023 and 2024.
