Madonna's 'Like a Prayer' Inspires Olympic Skater Amber Glenn: 'Go Get That Gold'

Amber Glenn received the ultimate endorsement for her Olympic figure-skating routine, set to Madonna’s iconic 1989 hit, “Like a Prayer.” The Queen of Pop surprised Glenn with a personalized message before the women’s short program in Milan, Italy.

In a video shared by NBC Sports, Glenn is visibly overcome with excitement as she watches Madonna's message.

"I just watched you skate to my song ‘Like a Prayer,’ and I have to tell you, I was blown away by it," Madonna said in the clip. "So strong, so beautiful, so brave. I can’t imagine that you would not win. Go get that gold."

Glenn was stunned, exclaiming, “Sorry, I’m in shock… Oh my God. I’m legitimately shaking.”

She responded directly to Madonna: “My queen, thank you so much. You are beautiful, stunning, amazing, and you are an icon forever. Thank you for supporting athletes in their artistic endeavors. I hope I can do the song justice.”

The pep talk preceded Glenn's performance in the women’s short program, where she finished 13th overall. Fellow Team USA members Alysa Liu and Isabeau Levito are currently in third and eighth place, respectively.

The 2026 Winter Games began earlier this month. Before the women’s short program, Glenn performed a free skate routine to CLANN’s “The Return.”

After Seb McKinnon (CLANN) expressed concern about the use of his song without prior permission, both parties released statements confirming the issue had been resolved.
