Major Lazer to Ignite 2026 Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony with Electrifying Performance
Major Lazer, spearheaded by Diplo, is set to headline the 2026 Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony in Verona, promising a high-energy performance featuring their global hit 'Lean On' and surprise guests.
Diplo's Major Lazer will bring their signature sound to the 2026 Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony in Verona, Italy, it was announced Saturday (Feb. 21).
The performance, slated for Sunday (Feb. 22), will include a medley of their most recognizable tracks, including "Lean On," which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2015. A press release teases "several surprise guests" joining them on stage. Viewers can catch the live broadcast on NBC and stream it on Peacock at 2 p.m. ET.
The Verona Olympic Arena will host the grand finale, celebrating the achievements of Olympic athletes. Italian stars Achille Lauro, actress Benedetta Porcaroli, and DJ Gabry Ponte had already been announced as performers.
Prior to the announcement, Diplo shared a lighthearted Instagram reel depicting his near-miss journey to catch his flight to the Olympics.
This Olympic appearance follows reports from Mexico City’s El Universal that Diplo will no longer perform at EDC Mexico due to logistical challenges.
Major Lazer's last album release was in 2020, their fourth studio album, Music Is the Weapon.
