Miley Cyrus is taking fans back to her roots with a 20th-anniversary special dedicated to Hannah Montana, the Disney Channel series that launched her into superstardom. The special is set to premiere on Disney+ on March 24.
"Going back to where it all began," Cyrus shared in her announcement, signaling a nostalgic return to the iconic series.
The special, filmed before a live studio audience, promises to celebrate the enduring legacy of the show. It will offer viewers an intimate look at the creation of one of pop culture's most memorable characters and the profound impact it has had on fans worldwide. Adding a modern twist, the special will also feature an interview between Cyrus and Call Her Daddy podcast host, Alex Cooper.
"Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am,” Cyrus stated. “The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”
Hannah Montana captivated audiences with Cyrus portraying Miley Stewart, a seemingly ordinary teenager leading a double life as a famous pop star. The series aired for four successful seasons from 2006 to 2011 and produced five soundtrack albums, including Cyrus's debut album, Hannah Montana, attributed to her character. Notably, four of these albums soared to the top of the Billboard 200 chart.
