Monsta X Grapples with Growth in New Single 'Growing Pains'
Monsta X returns with 'Growing Pains,' a reflective English-language track exploring themes of self-discovery and perseverance. The song is the first release from their upcoming English album.
Monsta X is making waves with “Growing Pains,” their first release of the year. The track arrived after a teaser earlier in the week, and is from the group’s forthcoming English-language album.
“Growing Pains” delves into self-discovery, perseverance, and identity, capturing the universal challenge of navigating adulthood with an ’80s power ballad energy.
The lyrics, “baby I’ll be okay… one day I’ll understand that I’m good as I am,” highlight a shift toward embracing imperfection, while “all the strength I’ve found, I’m still standing now” underscores endurance.
The bittersweet hook, “I’m finding my way dealing with these growing pains,” speaks to our ongoing struggle with personal evolution.
“Growing Pains” follows “baby blue,” which Monsta X debuted at iHeartRadio’s 2025 Jingle Ball last December. Both tracks will be on their untitled third English-language collection, a first for a K-pop act.
Monsta X celebrated their 10th anniversary with the Connect X concert movie, a tribute to the journey shared by members Joohoney, I.M., Hyungwon, Kihyun, Minhyuk and Shownu with their fandom, known as MONBEBE.
In 2025, Joohoney, Hyungwon and Kihyun completed their mandatory South Korean military service, after which the band released The X EP in September. The group became the third K-pop act to reach the Billboard 200 top 10 in 2020 with their first English album All About Luv, which debuted at No. 5. In 2021, Monsta X dropped their second English album, The Dreaming, peaking at No. 21.
