Noah Kahan's 'The Great Divide' Dominates Alternative Airplay Charts

Noah Kahan is experiencing a meteoric rise. Just a week after achieving the fastest climb to No. 1 on Billboard's Adult Alternative Airplay chart in a decade, his track "The Great Divide" has replicated that success by topping the Alternative Airplay chart dated March 7.

"The Great Divide" reached the summit in just four weeks, a feat last accomplished by Linkin Park's "The Emptiness Machine" in October 2024, which took three weeks.

This marks Kahan's second Alternative Airplay No. 1, following his collaboration with Post Malone, "Dial Drunk," which led the chart for two weeks in 2023.

His earlier track, "Stick Season," peaked at No. 15 in 2024 after experiencing a resurgence in popularity; it originally reached No. 21 in 2023.

Currently, "The Great Divide" holds the No. 1 position on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart for the second consecutive week. On the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, it maintains its peak position at No. 2 with 4.9 million audience impressions, a 9% increase, according to Luminate data for the week ending Feb. 26.

The track is also gaining traction on pop radio, holding steady at No. 25 on Adult Pop Airplay and climbing from 37 to 32 on Pop Airplay. It is also bubbling under on the Adult Contemporary chart.

"The Great Divide" debuted at No. 1 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart on Feb. 14. As of the most recent chart (dated Feb. 28, reflecting data from Feb. 13-19), the track held the No. 3 position, with 9.9 million U.S. streams and 1,000 downloads during that period.

Kahan's album of the same name is set to release on April 24, following his 2022 breakthrough album, Stick Season.

All Billboard charts dated March 7 will be updated on Billboard.com on Tuesday, March 3.
