PETA Slams Sabrina Carpenter's GRAMMYs Performance for Featuring Live Bird
Sabrina Carpenter's 2026 GRAMMYs performance featuring a live bird sparks outrage from PETA, who accuse her of cruelty to animals.

Sabrina Carpenter delivered a memorable performance at the 2026 Grammys, captivating the audience with her rendition of the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “Manchild.” The performance featured an elaborate retro airport set. However, the inclusion of a live bird on stage has drawn criticism from PETA.
Following the performance, which saw Carpenter holding a live bird, PETA took to social media to voice their disapproval. Their post declared, “Leave animals out of the #GRAMMYs!”
“Did @SabrinaAnnLynn really just bring a bird on stage in 2026?!” PETA’s caption reads. “The Manchild singer is giving childlike behavior.”
PETA's statement further condemned the act, highlighting the potential distress caused to the bird by the bright lights, loud noises, and handling. They argued that the bird belongs in its natural habitat, free to fly.
Billboard has reached out to Carpenter's representatives for comment.
PETA has a history of publicly criticizing celebrities for perceived animal welfare issues. Past targets include Britney Spears and Pharrell Williams.
Despite being nominated for six awards, including Song of the Year and Album of the Year, Carpenter did not win any Grammys this year. Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and SZA, and Bad Bunny were among the night's big winners.
