Pink Mexico Announces New Album 'what movie ends like this' with Blistering Single "gød wishes he was here"
Pink Mexico, the Queens-based purveyors of dreamy yet hard-hitting music, are gearing up to release a new album. They've dropped a new single "gød wishes he was here" and announced a split with Pants Exploder.

Pink Mexico hails from Queens, crafting music that delicately drifts while packing a serious punch. They previously caught our attention with the impressive 2024 tracks "Petting Zoo" and "Soaked," and now they're ready to unveil their upcoming album. Details remain scarce beyond the title and lead single, but that single is a banger.
Today, Pink Mexico unleashed "gød wishes he was here," a deeply satisfying astral stomp. This track appears on a new split EP shared with the Brooklyn doom band Pants Exploder. While I wasn't previously familiar with Pants Exploder, I think we can all agree it's a fantastic band name.
The Pants Exploder contribution to the EP is titled "you like sabbath dude? yeah? you like the wizzid?," and it absolutely shreds.
It turns out that Pink Mexico multi-instrumentalist Grady Walker also fronts Pants Exploder, handling vocals and guitar. Furthermore, Robert Preston Collum, his Pink Mexico counterpart, contributes backup vocals on "you like sabbath dude? yeah? you like the wizzid?" Looks like I need to start paying closer attention to this band, too. (Their album III dropped last year.) In the Bandcamp announcement for the split, Pink Mexico revealed that "gød wishes he was here" serves as the lead single from their forthcoming LP, what movie ends like this, slated for a spring release on Sonic Rising. In any case, you should really hear both sides of this new split.
