Post Malone has announced a delay to the start of his Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2 with Jelly Roll, citing the need to complete his upcoming album.

The singer shared the news on social media, revealing that the first six shows of the tour have been canceled. This decision allows Malone to finish his ambitious 40-song double LP, The Eternal Buzz.

“Looking at the upcoming schedule after Stagecoach, I came to the realization that what we’re trying to do, and what’s possible, isn’t really lining up,” Malone wrote on his Instagram Story. “The truth is, I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before tour starts. We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done.”

Malone added, “That being said, I’m so sorry to the folks who were planing on coming to the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y’all. That THAT being said, we been making some badass shit for this double album… and I can’t wait to perform for y’all again.”

The Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2 was initially scheduled to commence on May 13 in El Paso, Texas, but that show, along with dates in Waco, Texas, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Birmingham, Alabama, Tampa, Florida, and Oxford, Mississippi, have been canceled.

As it stands, the tour is now set to launch on June 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Before embarking on the Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2, Malone is still slated to perform at several festivals, including Albuquerque’s Boots in the Park on May 16, Panama City Beach, Florida’s Gulf Coast Jam on May 31, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina’s Carolina Country Music Festival on June 7.

The North American leg of the Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2 will now consist of 13 dates, concluding on July 28 in Salt Lake City, interspersed with Malone’s festival appearances, such as Milwaukee’s Summer Fest. Following the North American leg, the tour will move to Asia, with Don Toliver replacing Jelly Roll for those dates.
