Taylor Swift Sends Guitar to Young Fan After Viral 'Love Story' Request
A heartwarming story unfolds as Taylor Swift gifts a signed guitar to an 8-year-old fan who requested her neighbor to play 'Love Story' via a paper airplane.

A simple paper airplane has connected a young fan with her idol, Taylor Swift, in a heartwarming tale that's captured the attention of millions.
As People reported, Swift recently surprised 8-year-old Madeline from Ohio with an autographed guitar and a handwritten note. Madeline had gone viral in April after requesting her musician neighbor, Ethan Hayes, to play a Swift song.
Madeline, upon hearing Hayes playing guitar next door, penned a note asking him to play a Swift song. She folded it into a paper airplane and launched it into his yard. The moment was captured in a TikTok video by her mom.

Hayes happily obliged, performing "Love Story" for Madeline. Now, the young fan has her own guitar, courtesy of the 14-time Grammy winner, to play any Taylor Swift song she desires.
"I just wanted to let you know that it made me so happy that you asked your neighbor to play my song for you," Swift wrote in her note. The autographed acoustic guitar also featured a photo of the singer. "You brought the biggest smile to my face. I’m sending you your own guitar in case you ever want to learn too!"
Billboard has reached out to Swift’s representatives for comment.
Hayes also received a guitar from Swift, after her team contacted him via TikTok. "They’re like, ‘Hey, Taylor saw your video. We want to send you something. Don’t tell anyone until it gets there,'" he told People. "I was expecting maybe a signed poster or something. And then she sent us guitars, which is insane."
Madeline’s mom, Natalie Hulec, explained that her daughter chose the paper airplane method due to shyness. Hayes initially missed the note, but Madeline’s stepfather, Russell, alerted him.
"I’m a musician, so I get requests all the time," Hayes said. "That’s one ['Love Story'] I always usually keep in my back pocket."
Swift last released music in October, dominating the Billboard 200 chart for 12 weeks with The Life of a Showgirl. The album included two Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits: "The Fate of Ophelia" and "Opalite."
