Thundercat Announces New Album 'Distracted' Featuring Lil Yachty, Mac Miller, and More

Thundercat is poised to make a triumphant return with Distracted, his first album in six years, slated for release on April 3 via Brainfeeder Records.

The album promises a star-studded affair, featuring the newly released single “I Did This To Myself” with Lil Yachty, alongside production contributions from Kenny Beats, Flying Lotus, and The Lemon Twigs.

Notably, Distracted will also include “She Knows Too Much,” a previously unreleased collaboration with the late, great Mac Miller, adding a poignant layer to the project. Further bolstering the album's impressive roster are guest appearances from A$AP Rocky, Tame Impala, Channel Tres, and Willow.

Distracted delves deeper into the themes of grief initially explored in Thundercat’s critically acclaimed fourth album, It Is What It Is, which was partly inspired by the untimely passing of Miller.

"I don’t think the heartbreak ever stopped," Thundercat shares in the press release. "If it ain’t a girl, it’s taxes. If it ain’t taxes, it’s World War III. If it ain’t World War III, it’s a new update to the phone."
