Tina Turner, a legendary singer, songwriter, and performer, sold over 180 million albums and won 12 Grammys. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Jessica Koravos, CEO of Pophouse, envisions new ways to experience Turner’s live performances, focusing on her solo career and time in Europe.
"We came to the table with the sense that not enough had been said or made of the latter part of Tina’s career: her time in Europe and her huge hits as a solo artist later in life, just exactly how groundbreaking she was,” says Jessica Koravos.
After separating from Ike Turner, she released ten studio albums, two live albums, two soundtracks, and five compilations as a solo artist.
Her hits, like "What’s Love Got to Do with It," propelled her to legendary world tours, including a record-breaking show at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro during her 1988 Break Every Rule World Tour.
Her final tour, Tina!: 50th Anniversary Tour, was a top-grossing tour in 2009. Turner also authored the best-selling book, I, Tina, and had 17 solo hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
Tina Turner passed away on May 24, 2023, at age 83.
Founded by Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA and Conni Jonsson, Pophouse Entertainment acquires rights to iconic pop catalogs, including KISS, Cyndi Lauper, Avicii, and Swedish House Mafia. Their strategy involves creating immersive experiences like theatrical shows, museums, and virtual performances.

ABBA Voyage, a London show featuring avatars of ABBA, was created in collaboration with Pophouse and Industrial Light & Magic. The show has sold over 3.5 million tickets and is expanding to New York City.
The partnership between Pophouse and BMG marks their first collaboration to develop immersive experiences. Craig Hartenstein leads ABBA Voyage.
"We are spending a lot of time and effort on making sure we are the masters of some of these emerging entertainment technologies,” Koravos states. "We intend to complement one another and to continue to work together to maximize everything for Tina."
KISS, who sold their rights to Pophouse in 2024, will debut a virtual performance in Las Vegas as early as 2027.
"We are spending next week with the pyro[technic] specialists, seeing how hot the fire can be without burning the screens,” Koravos concludes.
