Tom Misch Announces New Album 'Full Circle' and Drops Soulful Single 'Sisters With Me'

Tom Misch has officially announced his highly anticipated second studio album, ‘Full Circle,’ treating fans to a taste of what's to come with the release of the new single ‘Sisters With Me.’

The South London musician and producer is set to release the long-awaited record on March 27 via Beyond The Groove/AWAL, marking a return since 2018’s ‘Geography’. Pre-order/pre-save here.

‘Full Circle’ promises to showcase Misch at his “most personal and honest,” exploring the stories and moments that have profoundly shaped him over the last four years. Themes of family, friendships, and nature intertwine, celebrating the journey of finding his way back to himself.

This album follows the artist’s previously discussed “step back” from music, a period of reassessment regarding his relationship with his craft.

During his time spent between London, Cornwall, Portugal and Nashville, Misch crafted the material for ‘Full Circle’. He shifted away from a predominantly production-led approach, embracing a more classic songwriting style.

Opting for piano and guitar, Misch broadened his sonic palette by incorporating a full band in the studio. He prioritized capturing live takes, minimizing post-production editing to preserve a raw and spontaneous feel.

Misch collaborated closely with Matt Maltese, who co-wrote several songs on ‘Full Circle’. Ian Fitchuk played a crucial role in developing much of the material in Nashville, while Adam Jaffrey was a key collaborator in the record’s initial stages.

He employed a vintage U47 microphone throughout the recording process, aiming for a sound inspired by the warmth and clarity of ’70s hi-fi records, citing influences such as Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and John Martyn.

The first glimpse into ‘Full Circle’ arrives with ‘Sisters With Me,’ a song born from a period when Misch and his sisters were living together in their family home for the first time as adults.

“It wasn’t my intention to write anything like that but it was probably a bit of subconscious creativity with everything that was going on,” he explained regarding the single.

The song is accompanied by a nostalgic music video, filmed in the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, crafted by photographer and filmmaker Juliet Klottrup, and produced by CANADA.

When life moves so fast/ It washes away/ We’re ocean deep/ Yes, we are the same,” Misch sings, reflecting on the strong bond with his sisters. “The youngest of three/ We evolve and we see/ The love life can bring/ Its uncertainty.

He emphasizes the unbreakable connection within his “family of five,” describing himself and his sisters as “cut from the same threads.

This spring, Misch is set to perform two headline shows at KOKO in Camden Town, London.

Tickets go on general sale next Wednesday (February 4).

Alternatively, fans can access a pre-sale on Tuesday (3) by pre-ordering ‘Full Circle’ before 5pm GMT on Monday (2).

When opening up about his break from music on social media, Misch explained that the “intensity” of the industry had affected his mental health. However, he told fans that he had still been “tinkering away” with new material “behind closed doors”.

He wrote that “taking some time away” had “definitely been needed and very formative” for him, in “exploring who I am outside of this project and trying all sorts of new things”. Misch also said it was important for him to spend “more time with family and friends”.

After ‘Geography’, Misch dropped 2020’s ‘What Kinda Music’ – on which he collaborated with Yussef Dayes – before sharing his first record as Supershy, ‘Happy Music’, in 2023.

The following year, the artist joined Loyle Carner for his All Points East takeover in Victoria Park, London. Misch released his latest EP, ‘Six Songs’, in December that same year.
