After exploring different sonic territories under various aliases, Tricky is reclaiming his artist name for his latest project, a direct successor to 2020’s Fall to Pieces. Different When It’s Silent is slated for release on July 17 through False Idols. The album was conceived and recorded across two significant locations: Tricky’s new residence in France and his formative hometown of Bristol.

In a press statement, Tricky shared a simple yet profound sentiment: “I just love making music. I’m grateful I’ve had the chance to live this life and keep creating.” Since Fall to Pieces, he has been actively involved in other musical endeavors, including the Lonely Guest and Theis Thaws projects, and a collaborative record with Marta titled Out the Way released last year.
