When We Were Young Festival Announces Hiatus, Set to Return in 2027

The When We Were Young Festival is taking a hiatus this year, the team confirmed today on social media.

"To our When We Were Young family,” the message read. “The songs, the memories, the moments—none of it exists without you. After an unforgettable run in Las Vegas, we’ve decided to take 2026 off to give this festival the care it deserves and to make sure what comes next feels just as special as what came before.” The festival will return for a fifth edition in October 2027.

"Thank you for showing up with your whole hearts every year,” the statement concluded. “This isn’t goodbye—it’s just a pause.” Further details on the decision to cancel were not disclosed.

The 2025 installment of When We Were Young, which took place on October 18, featured Weezer, the Gaslight Anthem, Avril Lavigne, the Offspring, Knocked Loose. Blink-182 headlined, as did Panic! at the Disco; the latter band played A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out from top to bottom to celebrate the album’s 20th anniversary. Past editions of the festival have hosted My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Green Day, and Paramore, among others.
