Xiu Xiu to Release 'Eraserhead' Album Based on Live Show

Xiu Xiu is diving deeper into the world of David Lynch. Following their Lynch-approved Twin Peaks album and concerts, the experimental band is set to release Eraserhead Xiu Xiu on July 10 via Polyvinyl. This album is a studio adaptation of their ongoing live show revolving around Lynch’s seminal film, Eraserhead. Fans can get a taste of what's to come with Jamie Stewart and Angela Seo's rendition of "In Heaven," originally composed by Peter Ivers with lyrics by Lynch himself.

Inspired by Alan Splet and Lynch’s original score and sound design, Xiu Xiu will be taking the Eraserhead set on the road this fall. A film companion to the album is also in development. Last year, the band released an album of covers, featuring their takes on songs by Daniel Johnston, Glorilla, and Robyn – though notably, this album is not available on Spotify.
