A Netflix documentary featuring former One Direction members Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson has reportedly been shelved following an alleged physical altercation between the two.

Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson Netflix Documentary Reportedly Scrapped After Alleged Altercation

Reports indicate that a planned Netflix documentary centered around Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson will not see the light of day. The project, which aimed to capture the pair's reunion and friendship, has been allegedly scrapped after a physical incident.

Last October, news surfaced about a three-part docu-series on Netflix following the former One Direction stars on a spontaneous adventure across the United States. Directed by Nicola Marsh of Song Exploder, the series promised fans a rare glimpse into their lives as they reconnected.

While Netflix never officially confirmed the project, reports now suggest its cancellation stems from an alleged altercation between Malik and Tomlinson.

According to The Sun, the incident occurred six months ago, with Malik reportedly punching Tomlinson after a remark about Tomlinson's late mother, Johannah. The source claimed Malik's ring caused a cut to Tomlinson's head, resulting in a concussion and medical treatment.

Nicola Marsh seemingly confirmed the cancellation shortly after The Sun's report, sharing the headline on her Instagram Stories with the caption: "And there goes the last year of work".

Neither Malik nor Tomlinson have publicly addressed these reports.

The documentary was set to follow Tomlinson's appearance at Malik's show in Los Angeles in January 2025, their first public reunion since Liam Payne’s funeral the previous November.

Malik recently released his fifth solo album ‘Konnakol’ and will embark on a tour starting May 12 in Manchester. Tickets are available here.

Tomlinson, on the other hand, released his third solo album ‘How Did I Get Here?’ in January. He spoke to NME about how the record represented a new breakthrough in his personal confidence:

“The experience that I built up on my past tours not only proved to me that I could do it on my own and provide a good night for people, but also it really informed the record in general,” he said. “I don’t think I would’ve been able to make a record like this without the confidence that I built there. There are now certain things that are seeping in that I disregarded in the past because I wasn’t confident enough.”
