Britney Spears Breaks Silence After DUI Arrest: 'Spending Time With Family'
Pop icon Britney Spears addresses fans after her recent arrest for driving under the influence, expressing gratitude and emphasizing the importance of family time.

Following her arrest earlier this month for suspected “driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol” in California, Britney Spears has returned to social media to address her fans.
The pop superstar posted a video on Instagram on March 27, showcasing her signature dance moves alongside her 19-year-old son, Jayden Federline. "Thank you guys for all your support… spending time with family and friends is such a blessing,” she wrote, adding, “Stay kind !!!”
This post echoes the sentiment shared by Spears' representative with Rolling Stone shortly after her arrest and subsequent release. “Her boys are going to be spending time with her,” the rep stated. “Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being,” they added. Addressing the arrest, the rep described it as “an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable… Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
On March 4, Spears was arrested by the California Highway Patrol at approximately 9:30 p.m. A CHP spokesperson informed Rolling Stone that officers suspected Spears of driving under the influence. “At approximately 8:48 p.m., a black BMW 430i was reported to the CHP’s Ventura Communications Center for driving erratically at a high rate of speed on southbound US-101,” the spokesperson stated. “CHP officers located the BMW near Westlake Boulevard and initiated an enforcement stop. … The solo occupant, Ms. Spears, showed signs of impairment and submitted to a series of field sobriety tests. Ms. Spears was subsequently arrested for a violation of California Vehicle Code section 23152(g), driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol, and booked into the Ventura County Main Jail.”
Spears was booked at 3 a.m. on March 4 and released around 6 a.m. The singer’s arrest was listed as “cite and release,” and she is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on May 4.
