Britney Spears Breaks Silence After DUI Arrest, Thanks Fans for Support

Following her DUI arrest earlier in March, Britney Spears has taken to social media to express her gratitude to fans.

On Friday, March 27th, Spears posted an Instagram clip dancing in the mirror with her 19-year-old son, Jayden Federline, with a message thanking her fans for their unwavering support.

“Thank you guys for all your support… spending time with family and friends is such a blessing,” she wrote, adding, “Stay kind !!!”

Comments were disabled on the post, which still managed to garner nearly 200,000 likes. In the video, Spears can be heard saying, “I’m composed, I’m being very composed,” while posing with her son, who briefly dons a white fedora in a playful Michael Jackson impression.

She followed up with another similar post featuring more footage alongside her son, reiterating “Stay kind” in the caption with a rose emoji.

As reported, Spears was arrested on suspicion of a DUI on March 4 in Ventura County, Calif., at 9:28 p.m. PT and released the following morning.

Her representative stated to Billboard, "This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time."

The representative continued, "Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being.”

Spears has faced legal troubles in the past, including a 2007 hit-and-run incident that was eventually dismissed.

Billboard has reached out to Spears’ rep for further comment.
