Brown Horse Announces 'Total Dive' LP and North American Tour, Shares "Twisters" Video
Norwich-based band Brown Horse is set to release their new album 'Total Dive' and embark on their first North American tour. Check out the video for their new single, "Twisters."
A distinctive strain of twangy, countrified indie rock has been gaining significant traction, and it's not limited to the American scene. Enter Brown Horse, a prolific band from Norwich, UK, who in just a few years have released two albums: 2024's Reservoir and last year's All The Right Weaknesses. Their sound is warmly ragged and familiar, fitting comfortably alongside their American counterparts, with a touch of classic UK indie melancholy.
This spring, Brown Horse will release their new LP Total Dive. The lead single, "Twisters," is a pleasant midtempo track featuring pedal steel and Neil Young-esque fuzz. Neve Cariad, a musician from Leeds, provides backup vocals on this song and most of the Total Dive tracks. Nyle Holihan, the bandleader, possesses a creaky, weary voice and an eye for detail, as evidenced by lyrics like: "Hear the crackle of a coffee jug/ Hear the sound of a closing door/ Your back turned, smoking a cigarette/ Watching a pot that will never boil."
