Charli XCX Walks the Runway to Hell in New "SS26" Music Video: A Fashionable Apocalypse?
Charli XCX unveils the "SS26" music video, a high-fashion commentary on style, substance, and the end of the world, directed by Torso.

In her latest release, Charli XCX is strutting down a “runway that goes straight to hell” with her new track “SS26,” accompanied by a visually striking music video that dropped Thursday night.
The music video, helmed by Torso and conceptualized by Charli herself, showcases the singer navigating Parisian runways in avant-garde outfits. The lyrics delve into themes of style and meaning amidst impending doom, as Charli sings, “Spring Summer ’26/ When the world is gonna end, no hope for any of it/ Yeah, we’re walking on a runway that goes straight to hell/ Nothing’s gonna save us, not music, fashion, or film.”
Charli also playfully addresses cancel culture in the second verse, quipping, “I was hacked, it got taken out of context, obviously/ But I didn’t do it, even if I did, wrote a really good notes app apology.”

“SS26” follows “Rock Music,” which was released two weeks prior. Both tracks will appear on Charli's upcoming seventh studio album. Charli's shift away from dance music on "Rock Music," singing, “I think the dance floor is dead/ So now we’re making rock music,” seemingly caught the attention of Madonna, whose own dance album Confessions II is arriving soon. The Queen of Pop responded with an Instagram post: “If your Dance floor feels dead, maybe you’re playing the wrong music.”
