Charlie Puth, Brandi Carlile, and Coco Jones Kick Off Super Bowl LX With Stunning Performances

Charlie Puth took center stage at Super Bowl LX tonight, February 8, delivering a stirring performance of “The Star Spangled Banner.” He played on a Rhodes keyboard, backed by a choir and small orchestra. The pre-game festivities also featured Brandi Carlile, who offered an acoustic version of “America the Beautiful,” and Coco Jones, who sang “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Relive their performances below.

Before them, Green Day ignited the pre-game show with a medley of American Idiot hits, including “Holiday” and “American Idiot,” albeit with some of the more politically charged lyrics omitted. Later, Bad Bunny headlined the official Super Bowl halftime show.

Last year's Super Bowl featured pre-game performances by Jon Batiste, Trombone Shorty, Lauren Daigle, and Ledisi. Lady Gaga also made an appearance in New Orleans, performing “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick. The halftime show was a spectacle, with Kendrick Lamar joined by SZA, Serena Williams, and Samuel L. Jackson.
