Charlie Puth's Madison Square Garden Show: A Night of Surprise Guests and Musical Magic
Charlie Puth brought his 'Whatever's Clever World Tour' to Madison Square Garden, and it was an unforgettable night filled with surprise appearances from music legends and comedy stars.
Charlie Puth's concert at Madison Square Garden on Friday night (May 29) was more than just a performance; it was an experience. As part of his 'Whatever’s Clever World Tour,' supporting his 2026 album Whatever’s Clever!, Puth treated fans to a series of unexpected collaborations with some of the biggest names in music and entertainment.
The first surprise guest of the evening was none other than Art Garfunkel. The legendary singer joined Puth for a moving duet of Simon & Garfunkel’s classic hit, “The Boxer.” Garfunkel playfully told the New York crowd, “He learned how to make his records from me and Paul… You’re my student.”
Puth responded with admiration, stating, “I am your student. I’m not just saying that because all these wonderful people are here. The reason that I’m here right now is because of the music you’ve written with Paul. It’s amazing.”
Midway through the set, comedian Jimmy Fallon, sporting sunglasses, took the stage alongside Puth for a rendition of Toto’s “Africa.” Following the performance, Fallon gifted Puth a custom New York Rangers jersey with “PUTH” and the number 26 on the back.
The energy continued to surge as Busta Rhymes made a grand entrance, delivering a medley of his iconic hits, including “Break Ya Neck,” “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,” and his verse from Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now.”
Busta Rhymes then led the crowd in a resounding cheer for Puth, proclaiming, “New York City, please make some noise for our brother, your brother, the incredible Charlie Puth.”
The surprises didn't stop there. Kirk Franklin joined Puth for a powerful gospel segment, performing “I Smile,” “Lean On Me,” and a cover of God’s Property’s “Stomp.”
Puth's 'Whatever's Clever World Tour' is set to continue, with upcoming shows across the U.S. and Europe.
